Marshall Cornelius

Safety Innovation Manager

With six years of leading safety in critical industries, Marshall Cornelius is passionate about finding solutions to workplace challenges for the front-line worker and creating an environment conducive to operational learning. As the safety innovation manager for Pinnacol Assurance, he specializes in helping customers find innovative solutions to integrate employee-led safety resilience within their organizations.

Cornelius started his career journey as a field engineer in heavy civil construction and has since worked in commercial construction and critical infrastructure. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in applied mathematics from the University of Colorado at Boulder’s College of Engineering and is a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and a Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM).

When he’s not advocating for improving safety through organizational performance, he’s in his Jeep or on his mountain bike enjoying Colorado’s backcountry trails.
