Mike Rittenhouse

Senior Safety Consultant

Mike Rittenhouse brings a unique perspective to the role of senior safety consultant at Pinnacol Assurance. With experience working in the oil and gas and construction industry, Rittenhouse has a knack for consulting with such businesses in the Southeast Colorado region, and he is skilled at developing relationships with customers through shared workplace experiences.

Rittenhouse started a career as a safety coordinator for a construction company and eventually became the safety director. Rittenhouse then worked in the oil and gas industry as a lead safety inspector for Synergy Inspection before becoming the safety and compliance manager for Whitman Consulting. Recently, Rittenhouse supported the clean-up of contaminated sites for the environmental remediation company, Forgen.

Rittenhouse earned a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Northern Colorado and an undergraduate risk management certification from the University of Colorado Denver. Rittenhouse also earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Phoenix, and completed the 40-hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER 40) training for supervisors through the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). Rittenhouse holds a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification and a Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) certification from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP).
