Dangers of Tank Gauging

If you’re an employer or employed in the oil and gas industry, you need to know about the new hazard alert from OSHA and NIOSH. The alert identifies:

• Health and safety risks to oil and gas employees who manually gauge or sample fluids on production and flowback tanks.
• Specific recommendations for employers that will protect employees from hazards associated with opening tank hatches to manually gauge or sample hydrocarbon levels.
